From writing to to podcasting to online courses, Erin is passionate about communicating science and engineering. She has experience creating communication tools for technical engineering topics and more pop sci topics, including writing scripts for Youtube videos, magazine articles, and more.
Erin is currently working as a science communicator for the International Space Station, communicating the science performed aboard the orbiting laboratory. She assigns, writes, and edits stories for publication on NASA.gov covering station science. She also handles the social media and distribution strategy for station science content, running the @ISS_Research Twitter account, and composing science content for other NASA accounts. Erin also supports space station astronauts with science communication materials.
She previously worked as the space reporter for the MIT Technology Review and as the publication's associate editor of the future of work. She writes for print and online on topics ranging from 3-D printing to diversity in tech. Erin also developed and writes The Airlock, a weekly email on emerging space technologies for MIT Technology Review. Erin has also helmed the publication's daily tech newsletter, The Download, which reached about 100,000 subscribers, grew Tech Review's Instagram following from 150K to over 400K followers in 6 months, and launched Clocking In, the publication's future work newsletter. She previously interned as the Richard Casement Intern for The Economist, writing weekly articles on science and technology and appearing on the weekly Economist science podcast, Babbage, to discuss new innovations in the scientific fields.
